True friendship is rare: Basis of successful relationships

True friendshipThe temperature in this part of the year was always extremely high and it was difficult for the man to support himself during this period. Since water prices were at the peak, this man thought he found a brilliant solution and decided to lower his costs by reducing the amount of water he would give to his hard-working camel. He put the plan into life and his loyal camel seemed just a little bit more tired, nothing that would worry the man. For the next week camel received even less than before, thus becoming slightly slower but still carrying goods as usual. The man already managed to save quite a few coins and happily continued this plan by reducing his companion’s water rations even further. Camel got weak and tired and his breathing was very heavy but the man could only see his growing savings. Then one day, while on the way, camel collapsed and died of dehydration and his master, crying said: “Now when my loyal friend almost got used to going without water, it died.”

When this man’s wife heard about it she said: “How could you expect your camel to support you if you failed to support him in the first place?”

This story shows how many friendships die..because one side takes this relationship for granted, ignorant of other person’s feelings . People often dream about love, affection, understanding..and they suffer in silence. True and loyal friend would not measure strength of friendship through lack of complaint he/she receives. It does not happen often that a person can say: “I have many true friends”..we may be really lucky if there are just a few people who can be called like this. I believe that we come to this world with the purpose of developing consciousness to the highest level possible and so we are born in conditions that would allow us to grow and learn. People that we meet and relationships which we create are part of that learning process and therefore are very important as they serve as ground for growing and improving. For this reason we should try to keep harmonious relations as those will bring best fruit. Marriages, friendships, alliances are the strongest when they are the most harmonious, where giving and receiving is equally distributed. If we are unsure about a particular relationship then we can easily use our own inner capabilities to verify the situation. Firstly, listen to your inner voice, intuition, higher-self..ask questions: Am I going in the right direction with this person? Are we both benefiting? Are the energies balanced or am I under control? See how you feel about it..do you enjoy being in this person’s company, can you easily and freely exchange thoughts and opinions, do you feel comfortable together, can you be fully yourself or do you play roles to sustain this relation. Finally, you need to remember that good relations are not just forming out of nowhere, we have to work at them and do it out of free will. If you need to fight for it then probably it is not any good and will bring more pain than happiness.
